Linjer is a luxury watch and handbag brand that was founded in 2014 by Jennifer Chong and Roman Khan through a crowdfunding campaign. By eliminating middlemen and selling directly to customers, Linjer has made thoughtfully created timeless pieces accessible at a fraction of the cost of mainstream luxury brands.
The offerings include swiss movement watches and vegetable-tanned leather staples. Linjer’s emphasis on creating lasting designs through sustainable production is remarkable. You can learn more about the superior quality of Linjer’s raw materials and their sustainability practices here.
Linjer provides free worldwide shipping, 30-day returns, and a two-year warranty on watch and a lifetime warranty on leather goods purchases.
The two bags that drew me in were the Crossbody Purse and Soft Tote. I put both on my wishlist last year, and on my birthday this year I decided to get the Crossbody Purse in black. It was back ordered in June, so I waited until September to receive the bag. During the waiting period Linjer kept me updated with my order’s progress. That made for a smooth customer service experience.
I’ve now been using the bag everyday for over two months and feel comfortable reviewing it.
Linjer’s Crossbody Purse arrives in a sturdy white box. I always store my bags and shoes in their original packaging, so I’m happy that the box is substantial. It also comes with a beige color dust bag, an authenticity card, and a personal note from the founders. These details make for a luxurious unboxing experience, which I’ve filmed on my IGTV.
The purse has a classic half-moon design that’s embellished with pale yellow hardware. It features a double-zip closure and a detachable, adjustable shoulder strap. Both these details are handy for me as a daily commuter to work.
The purse is lined with Linjer’s classic cotton twill lining in a soft beige color. This little detail combined with the bag’s impeccable stitching adds a luxurious feel. The interior contains two pockets that are perfect to keep a small wallet or cardholder, keys, and a phone.
The exterior of the bag is clear of any chunky logos. A small leather rectangle on one of the interior pockets says “Linjer.” That simplicity in the design makes it perfect for my taste.
The Crossbody Purse has a sturdy base with four metal feet that make it easy for the bag to stand on the ground. While the bag is structured, its smooth leather has a lot of give. This means I can easily fit all essentials in the bag. That includes my phone, cardholder, keys, a small Moleskine notebook, sunglasses, perfume, lipstick, hand cream, and a paperback book. Even after all that, there is space for more and the bag doesn’t feel heavy because in itself its quite lightweight.
In addition to black, the purse also comes in navy and burgundy. It retails at $349 (inclusive of shipping and custom duties), which is a fair price considering the quality of the impeccable craftsmanship and quality of the materials. A good detail to keep in mind is that the purse is made of vegetable-tanned leather, which will ensure durability and a beautiful patina. This process of tanning requires significantly more time, patience, and skill. No wonder only 10% of the world’s leather is tanned through this process in comparison to the 90% that’s tanned synthetically.
The dimensions of the bag are: 28cm wide, 20cm tall (without handles), 9.5cm handle drop, 7cm deep, 104-124cm shoulder strap, 400g weight. For some this may be too small as a day bag, but it works out perfectly for my 5’6 frame. Larger bags tend to drown me, therefore I carry my ugly essentials separately in a large La Pliage from Longchamp. I have done a What’s In My Bag video on IGTV, if you’re interested in details.
All in all, I’m beyond happy with my purchase of the purse. I love wearing it both as a top handle bag and a crossbody purse. It’s my current office bag, but its versatility lets me get a ton of use out of the bag on weekends as well. I’d highly recommend the purse if you’re on the market for an exceptionally designed, timeless bag that will take you from work to date night in the city or from a casual Sunday brunch to a fancy, corporate dinner. I can see this one lasting me a lifetime.

That’s all for now, lovelies. Hope you all have a great week and I’ll see you in my next post. xx
